Whipperwheel, 110 Moody Street, Mason, Texas
76856 (West side of the square) is occupying a
historic building.  The original building was built in
1869 by Dan Hoester, a brand inspector who was
shot in 1875 during the HooDoo War.  The current
building was rebuilt in 1906 by his brother and over
the years has undergone several restorations.  The
building boast of an original buggy lift to the second
floor, however, the elevator with its massive pulley
system is no longer in use.   Once you enter through
the big doors of this building, you are immediately
aware of the fact that you are in a special place,
from the tall ceilings, to the wooden floor.  It takes
you back in time when a smile and a handshake
meant something.

The Hoerster Building is currently the home of two
unique shops.  Whipperwheel, owned and operated
by Misty Kast, offers a great assortment of rustic
furniture, unique gifts, and home decor.  Misty and
her staff are dedicated to the tradition of down home
friendly service, value, and integrity.
